Lythande is the name of a magician in the Blue Star order, featured in a series of stories by Marion Zimmer Bradley. Lythande was originally a character from the Thieves' World shared universe, but Marion liked the character so much that she continued to chronicle her adventures. Each magician in the Order has an "official secret". If an enemy discovers their secret, they are in danger of losing their powers. Lythande's secret is that she is a woman. The rest of the Order of the Blue Star are all men. This makes for some interesting stories. The various stories were collected into a single collection, entitled (appropriately enough) Lythande.
